To say that the .NET 4.0 & Visual Studio 2010 was a big release would qualify if for the understatement of the year – the latest release of our favorite technology stack was absolutely enormous! Tim gave us a high-level overview of what’s new two months ago and this month we’ll be taking a closer look at what’s new in ASP.NET 4.0.

We have all heard of Test Drive Development (TDD). But how many of us practice it? I would like to talk about the following technologies and how they can improve your TDD experience.

Dependency injection
Inversion of control (IoC) with Unity
Mocking with Moq

April Meeting – Visual Studio 2010 Launch Party!

What’s new in Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4?

This week (the US launch is April 12 at DevConnections in Las Vegas) is Microsoft’s official launch of Visual Studio 2010, .NET 4, and Silverlight 4. Visual Studio 2010 has a new language (F#), a new look (the IDE is written in WPF), and some handy new features. .NET 4 has a whole grabbag of improvements and new features.

I will be presenting from the Visual Studio 2010 Training kit and demoing Visual Studio 2010 with some of the included labs. Two of the things that caught my attention are Workflow Services and custom code generators for Entity Framework. We will wander through other features as time and audience curiosity permit. A sneak peek at the next version of Expression Blend will also be available.

November Meeting – Developers, Meet Windows 7

There’s a whole lot to like about Windows 7. On the surface there are numerous usability improvements, and under the hood things have been polished and refined. The end result is quite possible the best version of Windows yet!
